Panasonic Global TV Business Restructuring

Panasonic has unveiled a major strategic partnership with Shenzhen Skyworth Display Technology, marking a significant evolution in the future of the Panasonic TV business worldwide. The agreement will see Panasonic transition its global TV operations region by region, combining its renowned AV expertise with Skyworth’s large-scale manufacturing and supply-chain capabilities.

Panasonic TV Strategy Focuses on Scale, Quality and Long-Term Competitiveness

Announced during Panasonic’s European showcase, the new structure reflects Panasonic’s commitment to maintaining leadership in premium display performance while adapting to the realities of modern television manufacturing.

Akira Toyoshima, CEO of Panasonic Entertainment & Communications, confirmed that under the new model:

  • Skyworth will manage sales, marketing and logistics in participating regions

  • Panasonic will retain control of AV processing, quality assurance and audiovisual standards

This approach allows the Panasonic TV brand to leverage Skyworth’s production scale and speed, while preserving Panasonic’s technical excellence in picture processing, sound engineering and performance calibration.

Toyoshima emphasised that Europe remains a strategically important region for Panasonic TV, with strong consumer recognition for quality, reliability and value.

Panasonic TV Brand Equity and OLED Development Remain Intact

Paul Darch, CEO of Chungwei RGB, reaffirmed that the partnership will not dilute the Panasonic brand. Instead, joint development will continue—particularly across high-end OLED televisions—ensuring that flagship Panasonic TV models maintain their performance-driven DNA.

Crucially, Panasonic and Skyworth have described the collaboration as an operational partnership rather than an equity-based joint venture. While structural details remain limited, both companies position the alliance as a pragmatic response to:

  • Rising capital costs in display manufacturing

  • Accelerating panel innovation cycles

  • Increasing dominance of large-scale Chinese production ecosystems

By integrating Panasonic’s AV processing expertise with Skyworth’s R&D investment and manufacturing infrastructure, the companies aim to create a sustainable long-term future for Panasonic-branded TVs.

Panasonic TV After-Sales Support and Corporate Structure Update

Panasonic confirmed it will continue to provide full after-sales service and customer support for all Panasonic TVs sold up to March 2026, as well as for future models under the new arrangement. This ensures continuity for consumers, retailers and professional partners.

From April 1, 2026, Panasonic’s Entertainment Division will reintegrate into Panasonic Corporation, aligning the Panasonic TV business more closely with the broader corporate structure.

Panasonic TV 2026 European Line-Up: OLED, Mini-LED and More

Looking ahead, the 2026 Panasonic TV range for Europe will combine existing models with new introductions across multiple display technologies:

  • OLED

  • QD Mini-LED

  • QLED

  • 4K LED

  • 2K LED

The current Panasonic TV flagship, the Z95B, will remain at the top of the range, alongside the Z90B. New OLED additions—the Z85C and Z86C—will launch in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes, featuring updated OLED panels.

Model variations will reflect regional smart platform preferences:

  • Google TV in Europe

  • Fire TV in the UK

New Panasonic TV Glare-Free Screen Technology for 2026

New for 2026, Panasonic will introduce advanced glare-reduction technologies across selected Panasonic TV models, including:

  • Glare Free Ultra

  • Glare Free Max

  • Glare Free

These innovations aim to improve brightness handling and ambient light performance—enhancing the viewing experience in modern living environments.

Panasonic Reinforces Its Position in the Global TV Market

The Panasonic and Skyworth partnership represents a strategic recalibration rather than a retreat. By pairing Panasonic’s premium brand, AV processing leadership and quality control with global manufacturing scale, the Panasonic TV business is positioning itself for sustainable competitiveness in an increasingly consolidated display industry.

As the global television market continues to evolve, Panasonic TV remains focused on delivering high-performance OLED innovation, advanced processing technology and dependable customer support across key international markets.
